Did you know that your community group could be eligible for a minor grant of up to $2000 or a major grant of up to $30,000 under the Sunshine Coast Council’s Community Grants Program?

Community Programs Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said the latest round of Community and Environment Levy Grants were now open, offering financial assistance for a diverse variety of projects but potential applicants are advised to read the guidelines carefully and call Council before applying.

“Funding is very competitive from a wide range of community groups so we encourage interested applicants to plan and prepare and contact us if they need help,” Cr McKay said.

“Our grants information sessions are a great opportunity for applicants to get grant writing tips and explore other funding opportunities, like sponsorship.

“These information sessions will also feature a talk on how to seek and obtain sponsorship for not-for-profit groups to assist them in securing those much needed funds.”

Community groups can apply for funding for one-off projects through one of seven categories:

  • Community Development
  • Community Facilities
  • Cultural Development
  • Cultural Heritage
  • Economic Development
  • Community Events
  • Sport, Recreation and Healthy Living.

Grant information sessions will be held at three locations, across the region in late July to early August. Bookings are essential.

Contact a grants officer on 5420 8616 to book your seat at a session or for help with your application.

Minor grant applications for projects up to $2000 are now open and close on August 10. Major and Environment Levy grants open July 13 and close August 24 at 5pm.
