Hot on the heels of two sold out album launch shows, Guy Pearce will join forces with Powderfinger’s Darren Middleton in a double headline tour stopping at Council’s Nambour Civic Centre on Friday, February 13.

You may know him as an award winning actor, but Guy Pearce is now turning his artistic talents to music.

Pearce has grown up on our screens from his portrayal of Mike Young in the television series Neighbours to Hollywood blockbusters including Memento, L.A. Confidential and Prometheus, as well as home grown Aussie movies such as The Proposition, The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Animal Kingdom.

Pearce has now unleashed his inner musician with the recent release of his eclectic debut album Broken Bones to an appreciative audience.

Not wanting to be just another actor releasing music, Pearce was heavily involved in making the album, including writing music.

He also arranged and produced all 10 tracks, as well as playing a bit of piano and guitar on some tracks.

Broken Bones is based on both personal experiences and observations with the album questioning our emotional selves and our need to question our identities.

In Broken Bones, Pearce uses his husky singing voice to strong effect, with self-penned songs that borrow in style from bands like Crowded House and Augie March. - The Guardian AU

Joining Pearce on stage is former Powderfinger guitarist and songwriter extraordinaire, Darren Middleton, performing from his solo album, Translations.

Guy Pearce said he has been a fan of Darren’s for 20 years.

“He’s a wonderful storyteller and the idea of getting to perform together is a thrill for me,” he said.

“He’s a great songwriter and as we know, helped take Powderfinger to the top of the charts many times over.  Apart from getting to sing together, I know we’ll also have a good laugh.”

Guy and Darren will share the stage in what promises to be an unforgettable show, performing songs from each other’s repertoire, with a full backing band.

They will be supported on the night by Australian-born singer and songwriter Krista Polvere.

The show kicks off what is going to be a huge year of live music at Nambour Civic Centre with other acts such as Vance Joy and Adam Harvey hitting the stage throughout the year.
