The parklands and open space surrounding Petrie Creek in Nambour will soon be revitalised, with Sunshine Coast Council now calling for community feedback on a draft master plan for the area collectively known as Petrie Creek Parklands.
Have your say on the draft master plan by completing a survey by August 8 and go in the draw to win $300 worth of vouchers for various Nambour businesses.
Division 10 Councillor Greg Rogerson said development of the master plan was a key action of the Nambour Activation Plan.
“The plan aims to revitalise Petrie Creek as a recreational open space linking Nambour via safe pathways for pedestrians and cyclists,” Cr Rogerson said.
“The plan also includes play spaces, business opportunities and potential to showcase Nambour’s vibrant heritage.
“The open space surrounding Petrie Creek is the community heart of Nambour and we have the perfect opportunity to use this vibrant, green and diverse environment.
“We invite the community to have their say on the draft master plan to ensure it meets our current and future needs.
“You can view the draft master plan and complete the survey on council’s website.
“Once feedback has been received council will develop a final master plan, with work expected to start late this year.”
