ImageOn Wednesday, May 25 at exactly 11am, Sunshine Coast Council libraries will take part in the annual National Simultaneous Storytime campaign along with thousands of schools, libraries and playgroups across Australia.

National Simultaneous Storytime is an important annual campaign that aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books.

Now in its 16th successful year, National Simultaneous Storytime is a colourful, vibrant and fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy using an Australian children's book that explores age appropriate themes and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Grades 1 to 6.

This year’s nominated book is I got this hat by Jol and Kate Temple beautifully illustrated by Jon Foye.

Jol and Kate are the authors of many well-loved children's picture books including Parrot Carrot, Mike I don’t like and the new junior fiction series Jimmy Cook discovers the third grade.
