La Balsa Park upgrade

SUNSHINE Coast’s littlest residents and their playmates have 57,000 reasons to smile after their playground at La Balsa Park underwent its latest upgrade.

Divisional councillor Chris Thompson said the new play fort at Harbour Pde, Buddina would provide hours of enjoyment for years to come.

“New equipment includes a spinning bowl and the previous slide unit was replaced with one which incorporates a fire pole, slide, climbing wall and decorative panels,” Cr Thompson said.

“A rocker will also be replaced with a digger in the coming weeks.

“The playground also has a fence to make it safer.”

The playground upgrade has been funded through Cr Thompson’s division allocation.

Cr Thompson said the latest upgrade complemented furniture and other play equipment installed over the past few years.

“I’ve been liaising with residents regarding what they’d like to see at this popular park and am pleased their children can enjoy this new equipment located at one of the coast’s most scenic areas.

“I’m also looking forward to enjoying some time there with my own family.”
