Lazy Sunday afternoons spent enjoying free entertainment in a variety of beautiful settings across the Coast. Sound good?

Then why not come along to Sunshine Coast Council’s third Sundayze Series event on Sunday 24 July from 12.30 to 3.30pm at The Events Centre, Minchinton Street, Caloundra.

Themed LOL Comedy the FREE community event will feature an afternoon of side splitting laughter and entertainment by local comedian Lindsay Webb and local musician Andrew Redford as well as nationally acclaimed comedians Chris Franklin, Mel Buttle and Mick Meredith.

Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said the Sundayze Series is a terrific way to enjoy free entertainment in some of the Region’s great parks and community venues.

"The Sundayze Series provides a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together in a family friendly environment and enjoy a free, chilled-out afternoon of great entertainment," he said.

Queensland based Chris Franklin is best known for the 2000 release of his first single ‘Bloke’ which is a hilarious bogan send up of the 1997 Meredith Brooks song ‘Bitch’. Chris has been performing comedy since 1997 and after just six months of performing had won the prestigious Triple J Raw Comedy Award for Australia's best new talent.

Lindsay Webb is a local comedian from the Sunshine Coast and before his hugely successful international solo career took off he was ‘the funny bloke’ on the Sea FM Morning Crew for four years and has been working the Australian Comedy Circuit since he won the Queensland finals of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival JJJ Raw Comedy Competition in 1998.

Mick Meredith is an all round entertainer who combines his love of music and comedy to deliver a top shelf comedy performance every time. Mick has performed all over Australia, entertaining audiences with his razor sharp, loveable wit and guitar by his side.

Mel Buttle also likes to mix music and comedy performing spontaneous raps and rhymes with her extremely clever and articulate lyrics. Coming from a teaching background Mel uses her life experience and humour to create hilarious songs that will have you in stitches.

Nineteen year old indie artist Andrew Redford is a multi-instrumental singer/songwriter from Cotton Tree on the Coast. Andrew will be performing a mix of cover songs as well as his own during various breaks in the day to offer a welcomed change of pace and give the crowd a chance to get their breath back and give their sides a rest. His latest EP Release ‘She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not’ reached number four on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter album charts.

Each Sundayze Series event, held on the last Sunday of the month from May to September, has a different theme.

As this event is being held indoors, there will be limited seating available. Tickets are available from the venue or online atwww.theeventscentre.com.au.
