There will be no better way to warm up this winter than at an afternoon of free, side splitting laughter and entertainment at Pomona next month.
If the idea tickles your fancy then why not become part of the audience at Sunshine Coast Council’s Sundayze Series event Laugh out Loud on Sunday 8 July at the Majestic Theatre in Pomona from 1pm.
Division 12 Councillor Tony Wellington said Laugh out Loud is the third in the Sundayze Series – a program of free concerts which offer the communities an opportunity to come together.
"Community engagement has been shown to generate wellbeing for individuals," Cr Wellington said.
"I strongly support community events that provide a context and purpose for social gathering.
"The Laugh Out Loud event showcases high calibre performers, and it’s free for everyone to enjoy. This show also presents another opportunity to celebrate the wonderful Majestic Theatre, which is such a terrific community asset."
The two hour event features a stellar line up of comedians including Fiona McGary, James Tinniswood, Troy Kinne and headlined by the very funny Dave Callan.
Queensland comedian Fiona McGary will be master of ceremonies for the event and will also perform some of her own hilarious stand up routines.
Fellow Queenslander, James Tinniswood has recently emerged as one of the most unique and popular acts on the comedy scene with witty, original and catchy comedy songs as well as a dorky, pop culture-laden sense of humour.
Troy Kinne is best known for his performance in the 2006 ‘Search for Australia’s Funniest Man’ DVD and has since won almost every young comic competition in the country. Troy secured a trip to New York to attend the American Institute of Comedy and has performed at world famous comedy clubs in New York.
To round off the afternoon of comedy, Dave Callan will take to the stage. Best known for his years performing on Rove Live, hosting Saturday nights on Triple J and numerous appearances on Spicks and Specks and the Footy Show, Callan is always hilarious.
Seating is limited at the Majestic so seats must be booked in advance. For more information or to book, visit council’s website or contact council on 5475 7272.
