Learn how to recycle right during National Recycling Week
  • Wednesday 30 October 2013

Do your kids know more about recycling than you do? Get up to speed during National Recycling Week by heading along to one of Sunshine Coast Council’s Recycle Right Workshops.

National Recycling Week runs from 11 November to 17 November and focuses on the benefits of recycling, how to be a better recycler and alternatives to just kerbside recycling.

Council is hosting two recycle right at home sessions and a recycle right with nature workshop. Bookings for these free workshops are essential and can be made online at or by calling 5475 7272

Environment Portfolio Holder Cr Tony Wellington said the workshops offer a chance for residents to learn something new during this year’s National Recycling Week.

“A good challenge during National Recycling Week is to take a look at the items you’re throwing in the recycling bin and ask yourself if they could be used for another purpose or used by someone else.

“These Recycle Right workshops are a great opportunity to learn more about recycling at home and they also offer novel and creative ideas for re-using household items.”
