Sunshine Coast Council presents a series of meticulously detailed works by local illustrator Dean Jacobs’ exhibition DOUBLE-TAKE at Caloundra Regional Gallery from 16 January to 3 March 2013.
Sunshine Coast illustrator Dean Jacobs said the doors are opening as he embarks on his first exhibition showcasing this new illustrative style.
"The world of illustration is shifting. Now with the influence of technology, the days of pencil and paper is quickly being replaced by mouse and computer screen," he said.
"It’s great to be at the cusp of an emerging style.
"There are not many practitioners locally who have adopted this style and I am excited to bring it to the public through my exhibition.
"My DOUBLE-TAKE exhibition looks at the world of Digital Hyperrealistic Illustration giving an insight into the techniques and processes that I use to create these pieces.
"From meticulously detailed portraits, to exploring the dark half – peeking from the depths of my PhD into Jack the Ripper – it is a journey worth exploring and one that will force you to DOUBLE-TAKE."
