ImageIf you are a young and passionate dancer here is your chance to learn new skills at the Queensland Ballet Dance Camp from Monday, June 27 to Thursday, June 30 at Sunshine Coast Council’s Lake Kawana Community Centre.

Division 3 Councillor Peter Cox said Lake Kawana Community Centre had a long history of providing a diverse range of high quality, engaging and affordable school holiday activities and events and this partnership with the Queensland Ballet was testament to that fact.

“The aim of the Queensland Ballet Dance Camp is to help raise community awareness about dance, and to reinforce the diverse technical and expressive skills of dance students,” Cr Cox said.

“The Dance Camp is aimed at two different age groups, a junior program catering for students aged five to 10 years and a senior program catering for students aged 11 to 16 years.

“Workshops and classes in ballet, production, wardrobe and contemporary dance will offer participants the chance to connect with Queensland Ballet, a vibrant, creative company which seeks to connect the people of Queensland with dance.

“The camp will conclude with a celebratory event giving participants the opportunity to share their new skills and learning outcomes with family and friends.”

Tickets for the four-day camp is just $130 per person. Spots for the workshops are limited, and will require booking in advance.
