Look out for Encompass – in letterboxes this weekend
  • Friday 17 July 2009

Encompass magazine will hit letterboxes from this weekend, keeping residents up to date with the latest news on rates, roads and red hot reads.

The magazine will be delivered to all residential letterboxes from this weekend until 24 July. It is the Sunshine Coast Council’s regional publication to help keep residents informed of council services and projects and invite them to take part in community engagement programs.

Highlights of the August issue include:

  • the latest council budget news and what it means for rate-payers
  • how to register your cats and dogs at the lowest rate
  • how the Sunshine Coast airport will look after its planned facelift
  • which beaches are patrolled over winter
  • big plans for Maroochydore and Caloundra South.

The cover shot features a heart-warming photograph of children playing in a Peregian community garden. It was snapped by a local amateur photographer as part of a recent council photographic competition asking residents to capture their idea of “sustainability” in a photo. Inside are other winning photographs showing fresh produce at Eumundi markets and a public transport hub at Sunshine Plaza.

The magazine will be mailed to all residents on the Sunshine Coast over the coming week, so look out for it in your letterbox from this weekend.

If you haven’t got yours by Friday 31 July, give council a call on 5420 8200.

Copies will available online at www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au from Monday or you can pick up one at council customer service centres and libraries.
