Residents, business and visitors can once again boast about the majesty of Mooloolaba with the most recent stage of the foreshore upgrade now complete.
Sunshine Coast Council has recently completed a $980,000 refurbishment to the Mooloolaba Esplanade Foreshore Park, which heralds a bright future for one of the Coast’s most popular tourist destinations.
Jamie Franklin, capital works project manager for council said that this is a fantastic end result for residents, businesses and visitors.
“The high quality finish complements the existing streetscape elements and adds value to Mooloolaba’s key asset. The results are fantastic.”
“The park upgrade features new barbeques, showers, picnic areas, a beach bar, landscaping, new pathways and furniture.”
Ross Ullman from local association, Mooloolaba Business and Tourism, who have been strong advocates for the upgrade; said that they welcomed the completion of the work.
“This has transformed a much used section of the foreshore into a popular picnic area, with a greater range of modern facilities that will allow more families to enjoy the experience at any given time,” Mr Ullman said.
“The area was previously looking very tired and the limited range of facilities meant that only a few family groups could make use of the area at the one time. The area now has a great feel about it and is in keeping with what we believe Mooloolaba is all about – families enjoying the beach.”
