Make a difference to Mapleton Lilyponds Park

How could Mapleton Lilyponds Park be better?

That’s what Sunshine Coast Council wants to know and local residents are invited to provide the answers. Council is currently undertaking preliminary planning for park improvements to enhance its accessibility and amenity for all users.

A dog-off-leash area, installation of fitness equipment and construction of an elevated boardwalk and perimeter pathway are among the options for consideration. The collective input of the community will guide the future design and management of the park.

Division 10 Councillor Paul Tatton said locals had until 1 April to have their say on the future direction of the park.

"I really encourage all locals to provide us with their input into Mapleton Lilyponds Park," he said.

"We’re committed to improving this park and in order to get the very best result we need the help of Division 10 residents who use and enjoy this facility.

"A feedback questionnaire has been mailed out to local residents and is available on the ‘have your say’ section of council’s website.

"There are also four image boards showing proposed upgrade options for the park that people can view at the Mapleton Post Office."

Residents can also provide feedback via email at  ispmb@sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au or contact council’s project team on (07) 54758501.

Council will also undertake consultation with neighboring landowners in conjuction with further site investigation to determine the suitability of the proposed changes.
