Mayor takes a trip down memory lane with Dads Read storytelling
  • Tuesday 04 September 2012

Sunshine Coast Council is calling all families to join in the Dads Read celebrations and head to some of the free and fun activities planned at local libraries throughout September.

Dads Read is aimed at raising awareness about the importance and benefits of fathers and families reading with their children.

Reading with young children not only helps them to develop a love of reading but also builds self-esteem which is a fundamental life skill.

Families are invited to celebrate Dads Read in September by visiting their local library with Dad and joining in on a storytelling session or constructing planes, trains or automobiles at a Lego block party.?

For full details on the Dads Read month-long celebrations visit council’s library website or call 1300 LIBRARY.
