Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson will visit Maleny on Friday 25 January to open a key piece of infrastructure on the Maleny Community Precinct site.

A 70-space car park—located between the golf driving range and Pattemore House, and accessed via Porters Lane—is the first major infrastructure item to be delivered on the precinct as part of the approved master plan.

The Mayor will be accompanied by divisional Councillor Jenny McKay and other Sunshine Coast councillors.

Mayor Jamieson said he is pleased to open such an essential component of the project.

“The car park opening represents a significant milestone for the project as it delivers important access to the precincts walking paths, Pattemore House and other precinct attractions,” Mayor Jamieson said.

“I’m also looking forward to a guided tour of the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve.”

Division 5 Councillor Jenny McKay said she is looking forward to celebrating a significant milestone on the precinct project.

“I’m absolutely delighted that the Mayor will be in Maleny on Friday to familiarise himself with two of the current projects, the Maleny Community Precinct and the much-loved Mary Cairncross Reserve,” Cr McKay said.
