More Aussie and international acts bound for Caloundra
  • Monday 22 June 2015

The second round of artists for this year’s Caloundra Music Festival has been announced today, with Hoodoo Gurus, Baby Animals and Ben Lee joining an already impressive line-up which includes Xavier Rudd, Angus and Julia Stone and San Cisco.

Festival Director Richie Eyles said the Gurus, Ben Lee and Baby Animals would all perform on Sunday October 4.

“These three fantastic Australian acts combined will provide a feast of hits that we have all grown up enjoying," Mr Eyles said.

“The Gurus are legends and The Baby Animals are back by popular demand following their performance last year and this time they’ll be on the main stage.

“Ben Lee was also a hit a couple of years ago and is excited about making his return to Caloundra."

Other acts announced today include Pseudo Echo, Ash Grunwald, Tijuana Cartel, Abbe May and Lime Cordiale.

The Caloundra Music Festival’s strong relationship with New Orleans has also continued via the inclusion of Royal Southern Brotherhood, along with George Porter and the Runnin’ Pardners.

Cyril Neville (Neville Brothers) and George Porter (The Meters) head up these two popular and established New Orleans acts and are sure to deliver an extravaganza of powerhouse blues and funk.

Other internationals announced today include JJ Grey and Mofro (US), Babylon Circus (France) and Steve Poltz (US).

“We are so lucky to have international acts of this calibre coming to perform in our beautiful beachside backyard,” Mr Eyles said.

“Babylon Circus are a bunch of fun - I would describe them as a French version of a cross between The Cat Empire and The Melbourne Ska Orchestra.

“Steve Poltz is inimitable, talented and hilarious.”

Now in its ninth year, the 2015 Caloundra Music Festival will also feature a host of local artists including Doolie Shadforth, Agnes J Walker and the Cry babies, Hoo8who and The Brains Trust – just to name a few.
