Networking event a great opportunity for businesses
  • Wednesday 15 October 2008

Sunshine Coast Council will host a business networking event which is expected to attract hundreds of local business people to the Nambour Civic Centre on October 29 from 5:30-8:30pm.

The event, which in the past has attracted over 300 people, is a great opportunity for like-minded business people to get together and network while having some fun.

Sunshine Coast Mayor, Bob Abbot said previous networking events had been of great value to those attending and generated very positive feedback.

“We try to provide variety at each event and those attending really enjoy the informal and structured activities which provide the opportunity to expand their business network,” Cr Abbot said.

“Networking promotes the growth and sustainability of business across the region and these events are an important part of Council’s commitment to economic development.”

A networking workshop presented by Clare Edwards, founder of Changeworks, will be held at 4.30pm before the networking activities begin.

The workshop is a fun, interactive way to brush up your networking skills where you will learn about building instant rapport with new people and communicating effectively with different personalities to maximize your networking success.
