A new plaza, new pathways and landscaping now greet visitors at the entry to Montville’s Russell Family Park.
Division 5 Councillor Jenny McKay said the work was the eighth stage of improvements made by Sunshine Coast Council in recent years.
“Russell Family Park is well known and loved by Montville residents and its many visitors and these upgrades have really improved the park’s entry,” Cr McKay said.
“As well as the new Piccabeen Plaza we’ve constructed stone clad seating walls, which complement other elements in the park, and improved edges around the car parking area to make it neater.
“There’s also new pathways which meet accessibility legislation and improve access to the existing amenities block.
“This project is one of many park and recreational infrastructure projects Council is delivering as part of its 2014-2015 $111 million Capital Works Program.”
Russell Family Park adjoins the town’s main car park at the southern end of Main Street in Montville.
