Sunshine Coast Council unveils a large new BBQ shelter at popular Muller Park in Bli Bli in time for Christmas.

Division 9 Councillor Stephen Robinson invites the local community and visitors to come fire up the barbie and chill out from the sun under the new contemporary shelter at Muller Park.

“Summer is here and there’s no better time to enjoy this great new contemporary shelter that boasts views out to gorgeous Maroochy River,” he said.

“The shelter is perfectly positioned within the middle of beautiful Muller Park so parents can relax in the shade while still being able to keep a close eye on the kids playing in the many open spaces of the park.”

The new contemporary shelter has a skillion roof so water runs off easily and has been designed as a clean, sleek and uncluttered structure to enable those on the other side to still enjoy clear views straight through to the water.

The shelter is also fully accessible to everyone with a flat concrete foundation and pathway connections.

In addition to the large shelter, new park features include:

  • two double BBQs that have been specially designed for all users and are more environmentally friendly than standard BBQs;
  • several new table and chair settings including a wheelchair compliant setting;
  • an equal access drinking fountain;
  • a new recycling bin accompanying the general waste bin.
