As part of TravelSmart Noosa month, the Sunshine Coast Regional Council and TravelSmart Noosa are encouraging the community to embrace alternative travel choices and take the bus, cycle, walk or ride a scooter to work in the month of April.

The TravelSmart Noosa month has three important dates and promotes a variety of transport options so everyone can be involved.

Tuesday 15th April – Bus to Work Day
Friday 18th April – Scooter to Work Day
Tuesday 22nd April – Walk to Work Day

For further information or to go into the draw for fantastic prizes, all you have to do is register online at www.travelsmartnoosa.com.au or phone 5449 5188. Should you wish to take the bus to work you can go to www.translink.com.au or call 131 230 for timetable information.

Councillors Lew Brennan and Russell Green acknowledge that Noosa is a community that embraces sustainable travel choices such as walking, cycling, scooters and public transport.

“Strategies have been developed that offer transport options to the community which means that people no longer have to rely on the motor car. These strategies will ensure that Noosa’s valued lifestyle and environment will be maintained, now and into the future.”
