Not one but four stunning exhibitions sure to impress at Noosa Regional Gallery
  • Thursday 04 April 2013

Sunshine Coast Council invites the community to immerse themselves in four exciting exhibitions promising a complete cultural experience at Noosa Regional Gallery from Wednesday 10 April to Sunday 26 May 2013.

As you enter the foyer of the gallery, you will be greeted with a Taste of Art 2013, the second group exhibition by Friends Noosa Regional Gallery Inc, exclusively organised for its creative members. The exhibition consists of wall hangings and small sculptural works of any medium and showcases the rich and diverse local creative voices from artists to hobbyists alike.

When your senses are satisfied, you are invited to continue your journey through to Gallery One where you will find the fascinating International Baltic Mini Textile Triennial exhibition touring from the Museum of Gdynia, Poland. Baltic Miniatures is a demonstration of how big ideas can be superbly expressed in a compact form. Artists from all over Europe, USA, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Israel, Qatar, Korea, Japan participated in this colourful textile exhibition that covers an uncommonly diverse spectrum of artists and approaches.

Venture further through to Gallery Two and you will find a stunning collection of two dimensional works in Hidden Dimensions by popular artist Lyne Marshall. Lyne has exhibited extensively throughout Australia and overseas and her paintings are created from a direct response to nature, seeking out places to linger, restore energy and nourish the spirit. Lyne’s third book: Finding the Hidden Dimension in Art will also be launched at the gallery.

The intimate space in Gallery Three is home to the exquisite ceramic exhibition Drawer(n) from Life by local artist Veronica Cay. This exhibition is a journey, an exploration, and a discovery of line and form. Combined with Veronica’s internal dialogue of memory, and half-forgotten truths the exhibition provides a powerful impetus for communication of the human experience.

All are welcome to attend the official opening of these superb exhibitions at 6pm on Thursday 11 April 2013. Bookings are essential by visiting council’s gallery website or by calling the gallery on 5449 5340.

Noosa Regional Gallery is open free to the public, Wednesday to Sunday 10 am to 4pm.
