Renowned artists from across the globe and an enthusiastic audience of festival patrons will gather at Boreen Point and satellite locations across the region from 31 May to 9 June to take part in Sunshine Coast Council’s Floating Land 2013.
Community Programs Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said the national award-winning 10-day celebration brings together international, national and local artists to explore environmental themes through creative art practice.
“The festival will incorporate a diverse range of traditional, contemporary and virtual art forms including sculptural installations, dance, music, theatre and written and spoken word,” she said.
“With the theme of Nature’s Dialogue, Floating Land will bring the science of nature to the forefront and provide a powerful platform for creativity, science, technologies and culture to intersect.”
