Council will resurface a large section of Plaza Parade, Maroochydore in February as part of its ongoing Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program.

Division 8 Councillor Jason OPray said the work would occur at night to minimise disruption to traffic and local businesses.

“Work starts on Sunday January 31 and is expected to be completed in mid-February, weather permitting,” Cr OPray said.

“The maintenance includes repairing sections of failed road pavement and laying a new asphalt surface between Horton Parade and Southern Drive.

“Work will start from 6pm and continue until around 6am.”

Division 4 Councillor Chris Thompson said the maintenance was one of many roads to be improved this year as part of the Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program.

“Through this program, council maintains the 3500km local road network across the region,” Cr Thompson said.

“As part of the resealing and rehabilitation, council repairs pot holes and road failures, renews line marking, and upgrades the region’s gravel road network.”

Council has liaised directly with affected property owners and thanks residents for their patience while this maintenance is underway.

Traffic controls will be in place to ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists.
