Popular Noosa Park undergoes makeover

Families, local residents and visitors to the region will welcome the facelift in store for Noosa Lions Park.

Division 11 Councillor Russell Green said the first stage of works to improve the dining, seating and play area of the much-loved park would commence on Monday 6 August 2012.

"This first refurbishment stage will include the creation of a new BBQ hub overlooking the foreshore," he said.

"The hub will be ideally located for parents to be able to relax while still keeping an eye on the littlies playing catch in the field, having a dip in the canal or mucking about in the play ground nearby.

"The works will include replacing the existing two BBQs with a new double BBQ facility, two new shelters and soft landscaping.

"These improvements are outcomes from the Noosa Heads Lions Park Landscape Concept Plan process and extensive community engagement."

The $100,000 refurbishment works are part of Stage 3 of the landscape concept plan and follow the recently completed improvements to the subsurface drainage throughout the site.
