Sunshine Coast Council’s Cooroy library will look pretty in pink in October to raise funds and awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Everyone’s invited to the Cooroy library for the Pink Precinct Fun Trail and the Pink Readathon.
The Pink Precinct Fun Trail will start at 7am on Thursday 13 October. Dress in your best pink outfit and follow a surprise trail around Mill Place precinct. Prizes will be given for the first to finish and the best pink costume.
The Cooroy library has partnered with Cooroy community groups and businesses to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
There will be a celebration breakfast, face painting, prizes and fun for all ages.
People are encouraged to get a team of friends together and have a fun morning out. Entry is by gold coin donation at the Cooroy library, or at any of the participating businesses in town. Look out for the pink posters.
You can also join in the Sunshine Coast Libraries Pink Readathon in the month of October if reading is more your style. There are lots of prizes to be won including an e-reader.
Read a book of your choice or submit a book review and you might win a prize. Enter at the Cooroy Library or any Sunshine Coast Library by gold coin donation.
Last year the Pinktober fashion parade, held at the Cooroy Library, raised over $2000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and they hope to increase the amount this year.
Turn pink, join in, have fun and help others. For more information about these events contact the Cooroy Library on 5454 9000.
