Projection and sound artwork at Noosa Junction station
  • Saturday 13 August 2011

The opening of Noosa Junction station provides a new transit hub for commuters as well as an exciting new experience in public art for the Sunshine Coast community.

Sunshine Coast artists Beau Deeley, James Muller, Pauline Casely-Hayford, Glen Manning and Kathy Daly have been commissioned by Sunshine Coast Council to produce projection and sound artworks that capture the culture and character of Noosa.

Each artwork will be displayed at Noosa Junction station for three months commencing with Beau Deeley’s Worlds within Worlds: Noosa.

Beau Deeley describes Worlds within Worlds: Noosa as a unique artwork celebrating the rich beauty of the Noosa biosphere.

Worlds within Worlds: Noosa utilises a variety of 3D imaging techniques including 3D animation, 3D landscape generation and 3D fractal imagery together with sound-scapes featuring ambient sounds captured from the region.

Worlds within Worlds: Noosa depicts the scenic majesty of the Noosa region and explores the hidden wonders that lay beneath the surface of ordinary reality.
