Sunshine Coast Council invites locals to have a say in shaping future projects affecting the community and the region.
Community Programs Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said from time to time council invites the community to provide online feedback to assist with its decision-making process.
"The feedback can range from the community receiving updates on council projects, to being consulted, or actively becoming involved in public engagement opportunities," said Cr McKay.
"Council recognises community engagement creates a great opportunity for an ongoing conversation with locals and plays an important role in shaping our future.
"Engagement with the community does not replace council’s decision-making responsibility, instead it allows the community to have a say and enhance our decisions.
"It is easy for community members to register their interest and become involved.
"You can visit council’s website today and register your name to take part in future discussions.
"Once you register, council staff or survey companies appointed by council may contact you to take part in surveys about projects or programs, to help create a sustainable region."
Registering on council’s Community Engagement Register is a quick and easy way for people to provide a response to economic, environmental and community issues. All personal details will remain confidential.
If you are interested in being included on council’s Community Engagement Register please visit council’s website to sign up.
