Skate park ramps up

The Yandina skate park is about to go off!

Two new vertical ramps are set to installed and improvements will be made to the existing skate surface at the facility.

Division 10 Councillor Paul Tatton said the $33,000 project would be tailor made to the recommendations of local skateboard riders.

"A key part of this project was inviting young skateboard riders in and around Yandina to have input into what was needed to improve their existing facility," he said.

"Their input has guided the upgrades to the Yandina skate park and I’m confident that youngsters will get a lot of enjoyment out of the improvements that council will make to this facility."

"This project aligns with council’s Skate and BMX strategy that is all about planning, developing and managing council’s skate and BMX facilities across the Sunshine Coast."

Work will begin on 11 July and is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete (weather permitting). Temporary fencing and project signage will be erected prior to the start of works.
