Sunshine Coast Council presents artist Marni Koster’s FORM-rel-ATION exhibition at Caloundra Regional Gallery until Sunday 12 August 2012.
FORM-rel-ATION, touring with the support of Hervey Bay Regional Gallery, is a collection of dramatic works created with a range of robust materials including marble, stainless steel, bronze, Perspex and timber, celebrating the simplicity and beauty of form.
Koster has honed her expertise in working with a variety of media, drawing together the innate characteristics of each material and an exquisite sense of design in a seemingly effortless way.
FORM-rel-ATION, Koster’s first major showcase, debuted at Hervey Bay Regional Gallery in 2011. Koster has always shared the desire to make beautiful pieces of art, a passion that began at three years old by joining in her mother Marina’s weekly art classes. The classes provided Koster with an experimental approach to using different materials in her artwork, and a fascination with combining materials in a harmonious and balanced manner.
Koster’s career has included numerous solo and joint exhibitions in Cairns, Kuranda, Port Douglas, Sydney and Hervey Bay. She has completed a number of commissions, including a bronze sculpture for the Australian Navy, and her work is held in many private collections.
Residents and visitors are welcome to attend the official opening of FORM-rel-ATION at 6pm on Friday 13 July 2012, hosted by the Friends, Caloundra Regional Gallery Inc.
