String rock sensation DeepBlue returns to Sunshine Coast Council’s Nambour Civic Centre on Saturday, July 12 at 7:30pm with their captivating new show, Who Are You.

Imagine a show that shuffles Radiohead, Corelli, Gotye and DeepBlue originals remixed with lush strings, big beats and rock ‘n’ roll.

Who Are You is all about the music and the moments that shape our lives. The performers’ exquisite playing, precision moves and circus antics are guaranteed to delight audiences.

Co-producer Darren Clark describes a DeepBlue show as a social night out that is full of fun.

“In all DeepBlue shows, audiences experience fantastic emotional performances from 16 energetic musicians. We hope that everyone will have a great night out together," Mr Clark said.

At Nambour Civic Centre, DeepBlue will dig deeper into the desires of their audience, continuing a conversation, which has previously seen their fans text in their dreams and song requests.

Audiences are invited to use their smart phones to access DeepBlue’s ESP, an Electronic Show Program that is full of information about DeepBlue’s music. This ground-breaking web app also enables audience members to confidentially share identity-forming moments of their lives during the show.

Of course, others will just want to sit back and have fun watching the show.

DeepBlue will engage with the Sunshine Coast’s music community leading up to their Who Are You show with a three day Winter Workshop program.

From Thursday, July 10 until Saturday, July 12, DeepBlue will work with young local musicians aged eight to 18 during the July school holidays, playing a huge array of instruments.

DeepBlue’s fun and creative Winter Workshops in performance and technology will culminate in a unique performance opportunity with DeepBlue on the night of the show.

Since 2006 DeepBlue has worked and performed with more than 5000 young musicians across Australia, Vietnam and India in the YoungBlue workshop and holiday programs. Visit www.youngblue.net.au for more information and to register for the Winter Workshops.

DeepBlue will also be inviting, for the first time in Nambour, choir singers of all ages to join them for a ChoralBlue workshop and performance like no other on Saturday, July 12. To register email registrations@deepblueorchestra.com

Judging from the reception of DeepBlue’s recent tour to Vietnam, where they performed to massive audiences at the Hue Festival and in Hanoi, these innovations like the ESP will add a new dimension to the performance, which connects the audience with the performers in new ways.

DeepBlue has wowed audiences across Australia and overseas, sold out their last two Brisbane seasons, and were finalists in Australia’s Got Talent. If you only see one show this year, make sure it is DeepBlue Who Are You.

Cost to attend is $48 for adults, $38 for concessions, SCvip Members and groups of eight or more, $30 for people 30 years and under, $26 for children under 17, $120 for a family including two adults and up to four children under 17 years, $38 for YoungBlue Parents and $12 for siblings of the YoungBlue Workshop participants.
