  • Thursday 21 November 2013

Deputy Mayor Chris Thompson will launch the Sunshine Coast Festive Season 2013/14 with the ‘switching on’ of the first Christmas tree at Mooloolaba on Thursday 21 November 2013.

The tree is the biggest in the region and is one of 29 listed as part of the Sunshine Coast Christmas Tree Trail outlined in the Sunshine Coast Festive Season Guide 2013/14.

The guide lists more than 80 fun, family-friendly festive season events and activities happening throughout December and January making it easy for residents and visitors to plan which events they want to attend to get them into the festive mood.

Residents and visitors can:

  • follow the Christmas Tree Trail with 29 decorated trees lighting up across the region
  • take part in local community carols and festive events, and
  • enjoy the exciting New Year’s Eve and Australia Day celebrations.
