Sunshine Coast festive season launched
  • Tuesday 20 November 2012

Mayor Mark Jamieson will launch the Sunshine Coast festive season 2012/13 with the ‘switching on’ of the first Christmas Tree Trail lights at Mooloolaba on Wednesday 21 November 2012.

Residents and visitors can celebrate this summer with more than 70 fun and family-friendly festive season community activities and events happening throughout December and January.

The celebrations, from across the region, are listed in council’s Sunshine Coast Festive Season Guide 2012/13, making it easy for residents and visitors to plan which events they want to attend to get them into the festive mood.

Residents and visitors can:

  • follow the Christmas Tree Trail with 32 decorated trees lighting up across the region
  • find their creative side at the green arts workshops
  • take part in local community carols and festive events, and
  • enjoy the exciting New Year’s Eve and Australia Day celebrations.
