Sunshine Coast Council is proud to announce fun-filled Summer school holiday activities which are sure to entertain the whole family at performance venues across the Coast.
The J Noosa, Nambour Civic Centre and Lake Kawana Community Centre have once again combined their school holiday events to give families an even wider range of activities to keep children entertained.
The J Noosa will kick off the holiday season with BushLab Didjeridu Workshops on 18 December which will see children making basic sounds and playing in a remarkably short time. Families can get into the festive spirit with a beautiful theatre production of Miracle on 34th Street - an entertaining story about Santa Claus on 22 December. If your children need to burn up some energy, book them into the Jumpin @ The J on 16 January for an hour of unlimited rides on five jumping castles for just $10 per child.
Do you love to sing, dance or perform? Then it’s good news because Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre Camp will be held at The J Noosa from 21 to 24 January and will cover all aspects of performance in musical theatre and will conclude with a Showcase Performance.
Nambour Civic Centre will be screening popular PG rated family movies including Dreamworks’ Madagascar 3 – Europe’s Most Wanted and Disney’s Frankenweenie throughout January. All movie tickets only $8.50 each.
Lake Kawana Community Centre will come alive with BushLab Didjeridu Workshops on 22 and 23 January and children over the age of six can book into a Flipside Circus workshop from 14 to 16 January for a fun introduction to a variety of new circus skills. The workshop include games, warm ups, stretching, strength, and fun group activities. Book today to learn all the skills of the circus including tissu, static trapeze, lyra, juggling, hoops, acro balance and tumbling. On the final day, children will be given the star treatment with costumes to showcase their circus skills in a performance for family and friends.
Early bookings are encouraged for all holiday events by visiting council’s website. If parents would like to be kept informed of upcoming activities and events subscribe to the performance venues’ e-Newsletter.
