The $21 Challenge – are you up to it?
  • Monday 24 January 2011

Feed a family of four for a week on $21? You must be kidding!

Not at all; it really is possible – and this February at Sunshine Coast Libraries the queen of thrift, Fiona Lippey will show you how thousands of families around Australia have achieved the impossible over the last three years.

Service Delivery Portfolio Councillor Paul Tatton said attendees at the Simple Savings sessions would learn money saving ideas on how to slash the weekly grocery bill.

"The average family spends $320 per week on food. Completing the $21 challenge for just one week would equate to an extra $300 in hand," he said.

"Imagine how much could be saved if the Challenge was taken multiple times over the course of a year."

Fiona’s website, Simple Savings, is the most popular money related publication in the country with 110,000 subscribers and averages 11 million hits per month.

In the free one-and-a-half hour sessions being held in libraries across the Coast, learn great new skills, time-saving tips, and ideas to turn leftovers into delicious new meals. Bookings are essential.
