Time’s running out to apply for $800,000 in grants

Have you checked yet to see if you are eligible to apply for one of Sunshine Coast Council’s three diverse grant funding programs now open for application?

If not then you had better get in quickly as time is running out with the last grant closing in early March.

The grant programs include:

Landholder Environment Grants offer funding assistance to private rural property owners on the Sunshine Coast looking to protect and enhance the biodiversity of their land and of the region. The Environment Levy awarded a total of $480,000 to 182 landholders for high value ecological projects in the 2013 funding round.

Landholder Environment Grants have a three stage application process with all interested applicants required to first submit an Expression of Interest form by 5pm February 24.

Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) supports the Coast’s budding or professional artists, actors, filmmakers, producers and musicians with up to $10,000 towards artistic ventures that benefit the region. Eighteen applicants were funded a total of $84,550 in the previous RADF grant round. The round closes March 1.

And council’s Community Grants Program (Major Round) offers assistance to a wide range of not-for-profit community groups proposing one-off-projects, activities or events that benefit the Sunshine Coast community. Fifty organisations were allocated funding totalling $274,278 in the previous Major Grants round, with projects including festive season events, sports fields drainage and youth activities. This round of funding is for open for applications until March 14.
