Sunshine Coast based constructor company Evans Harch led a pack of 10 Coast businesses in the rankings for the 2011 Queensland Business Review Q400 listing.
Evans Harch came in at number 19 in the list of organisations which represents the top 400 privately owned businesses in the state.
This Coast-headquartered builder was joined by the well-known Rockcote Enterprises which came in at number 124, next to Infocus Money Management at 125.
Beckers Helicopter Group took the 153rd spot, with Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers at 157, Cedar Hill Flowers and Foliage (162), Ferguson Cannon Lawyers (235), dtb! Advertising (314), Clearmake (322), and Chilli Group at 330.
The Q400 Gala Awards night, at which this year’s listing was announced, was held last weekend at the Sofitel Brisbane, featuring guest speaker Therese Rein.
Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Portfolio Councillor Lew Brennan congratulated the Coast enterprises.
"The number of Sunshine Coast businesses in the listing shows that we as a region are punching above our weight," he said.
"Given the calibre of local business managers, that number can only grow.
"Council’s new Local Business Support Program will also help local businesses seeking to expand, to one day join this illustrious group.
"More than 34,000 businesses call the Sunshine Coast home and with the success and recognition our businesses receive through not only this event but also council-supported events like the Sunshine Coast Small Business Expo we can only expect this number to grow," Cr Brennan said.
