Roundabout improvement works at Buderim, which were to have been completed this week, have been delayed.
The roundabout works are at the intersection of Ballinger and Stringybark roads, close to Matthew Flinders Anglican College.
Both the undermining of the road surface caused by unexpected water seepage from this year’s flood event and the forecast for more wet weather this weekend have dashed plans for the works to be finished before students return to the college next Tuesday.
The work is now likely to extend through to the end of next week causing delays for motorists, especially parents ferrying students to and from school.
Motorists are advised to avoid the Ballinger/Stringybark area if possible and seek an alternative route especially during these peak times.
