- Wednesday 20 August 2008
Time is running out for residents wanting to have their say on the proposed amendments to the Noosa Plan, the planning scheme for the former Noosa Shire.
The proposed round two amendments offer more flexible options when it comes to housing, starting a new business in an existing business centre and the provision of aged care.
The amendments also address one of the major issues on the coast - transport - by introducing requirements for sustainable transport options such as cycling and public transport, for any new commercial or community development.
The Noosa Plan, alongside the planning schemes for the former Maroochy Shire and Caloundra City, will remain in effect until a new Sunshine Coast Regional Council planning scheme is developed.
The public consultation period ends on Friday 5 September.
