Sunshine Coast Council is proud to present the haunting mystery thriller The Flood which will have audiences on the edge of their seats for one performance only at Nambour Civic Centre at 7.30pm on Tuesday 2 October 2012.

Created by the internationally acclaimed company Finucane and Smith, The Flood stars three of Australia’s finest award winning actresses Maude Davey, Caroline Lee and Shirley Cattunar.

It is a psychological thriller set in an eerie Australian landscape of a dilapidated sheep farm … it is disturbing, evocative, profoundly Australian and darkly funny. The farmhouse, ancient and neglected sits by the river sheltering a mad old lady and her isolated hard drinking daughter. Memories are seeping through the floorboards. As the sun sets, the flood waters rise. The screen door bangs open in the rain and wind; Catherine has returned after 20 years. The past is here.

Through the mesmerizing friction between estranged sisters, fuelled by alcohol and uncertain memories of a long dead father, three women are trapped with a past no one wants to remember.

The Flood contains strong course language and adult themes and is suitable for audiences over 15 years of age.

Cost to attend is adults $42, concessions $35, groups of eight or more $35, full-time students and children $25 and subscribers $32. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Nambour Civic Centre either by phone on 5475 7777, or in person at the box office otherwise online. Tickets will also be available at the door.
