Another stage of major upgrades to Glenview Road is now complete, offering improved conditions on a further 1.1km section of the Road.

The upgrade, which included realignment and reconstruction of the road, improved sight lines, widened shoulders, and reduced the severity of a previously hazardous crest in the road.

Transport portfolio and Division 1 Councillor Rick Baberowski said the upgrade had improved road safety in the area.

“These upgrades will improve visibility and driving comfort on Glenview Road, and improve safety conditions for pedestrians, school traffic and the whole community,” Cr Baberowski said.

“Upgrading our infrastructure is just one way council is improving road safety across the Sunshine Coast.”

Division 5 Councillor Jenny McKay said the road was now more suitable for school buses.

“The wider road allows extra room for school buses, making it easier for them to travel along this stretch,” Cr McKay said.

“Council is committed to ensuring safe roads and providing quality assets for its ratepayers.

“The upgrade is just one of many improvements council has made to our roads as part of our $183 million Capital Works Program.”
