Wanted – New walk organisers for Buddina, Glasshouse and Noosa

Do you love walking? Would you like to organise a free Heart Foundation Walk in the Buddina, Glasshouse Mountains or Noosa areas?

Sunshine Coast Council together with the Heart Foundation is pleased to provide all residents and visitors with the Heart Foundation Walking program. They are currently seeking new volunteer walk organisers for these three local areas.

The role of a walk organiser can be shared between two people and includes:

  • Determining a walking route, times, days
  • Welcoming new walkers
  • Completing and returning monthly attendance logs
  • Providing new walkers with a registration form
  • Being the contact person for the group.

Heart Foundation Walking is an initiative funded by the Queensland Government and aimed at getting more Queenslanders active.

Heart Foundation-funded walking is Australia’s largest network of free community-based walking groups. Sunshine Coast Council supports over 70 free walks each week across the Coast including weekly walks, monthly Moonwalks and monthly Pram Walks.
