‘What a Story’ – young stars prepare for their big day
  • Tuesday 30 June 2009

A special preview performance of ‘What a Story’ at 2.30pm this Friday at The J Noosa Junction will kick off the annual Shout Out Loud Youth Festival being held the following day, 4 July.

For the past ten weeks, 30 budding performers aged 10-17 years have been busy rehearsing as part of the Get Connected project to create a stunning new stage production for this year’s Shout Out Loud Festival.

Sunshine Coast Regional Council’s community support officer and festival coordinator Katie Edmiston has been overseeing festival arrangements in preparation for Saturday’s big youth event.

“The Get Connected program is about giving young people an opportunity to work with professional artists and create a new performance that is by, for and about them,” Ms Edmiston said.

Intensive workshops have been held at the Butter Factory in Cooroy and The J at Noosa Junction and now those two groups are brought together for combined rehearsals on 2 and 3 July before the final performance in front of a live audience at the Shout Out Loud Festival on 4 July.

Media are invited to attend the special preview performance of the show ‘What a Story’ at 2.30pm on Friday 3 July at The J. Please RSVP to Katie Edmiston on 5449 5104.
