Who buys it? Women do
  • Tuesday 17 April 2012

Women control or influence more than 80% of all consumer purchase decisions.

Whether that’s new homes (91%), holiday destinations (92%), or new cars (65%), female consumers are not a niche – they are the most powerful consumer group in existence.

Women factor in a broader, more complex and more specific set of criteria going into a purchase than a man generally does, as Amanda Stevens will tell you, on Friday May 4, in Caloundra, in a Sunshine Coast Council-supported event.

Chicago-based Ms Stevens is a global expert on marketing and selling to women and one of the most in-demand conference speakers in Australia and the USA.

She has been invited to speak at a Caloundra Chamber of Commerce business breakfast, at the Events Centre in Minchinton Street, in a not-to-be-missed presentation on marketing to women.

"Marketing and selling to women does not mean you aren’t marketing to men.?It’s not an either-or proposition.?Women expect more.?They have different needs and longer lists," Ms Stevens said.

In February 2011 she was appointed President and Executive Creative Director of the Marketing to Women division of the award-winning Chicago-based advertising agency HY Connect. She now divides her time between Australia and the United States.
